Tension escalated, on Sunday, when the protesting youths stormed the local g overnment secretariat, vandalized property and set the office of the chairman on fire

Ismail Aliyu Gwarzo, a resident, told the publication that the protesters took to the streets to express frustration over persistent security challenges affecting the community.

“Villagers trekked about twenty kilometers to the local government secretariat to protest the rising insecurity in their communities,” he said.

“They vandalized property and set ablaze a section of the secretariat. The incident caused panic among people, who ran for their lives.”

No official statement had been issued regarding the incident at the time of filing this report.
